Who is Erik Nebergall?
Erik Nebergall was raised in Wyoming, OH and graduated with a BS degree in Industrial Design from the College of Design, Art, Architecture, & Planning (DAAP) at the University of Cincinnati. Erik and his family has lived in the city of Cincinnati for more than 33 years and currently reside in College Hill. Erik and his wife, Mary, have two grown children who also live and work in the Cincinnati area.

Erik is 58 years old and enjoys flying a two-seat aircraft that he built in his garage, now flying out of Hogan Field – Butler County Regional Airport. Erik says that this project was typical of his character -- "I'm committed to quality and I complete what I start, regardless of the challenge & complexity."

Tell me about Erik's career
After graduating from UC, Erik was hired as a management trainee at Cincinnati Milacron and later was promoted to manager where he was instrumental in automating the company's engineering design & manufacturing functions. After "the Mill", he worked for Deloitte Touche, a leading management consulting firm, where he worked as a Senior Consultant at engagements for Caterpillar, in Decatur, IL, and General Electric Aircraft Engines in Evendale, OH. After the birth of their second child and a desire to spend more time at home with his growing family, he accepted the job of Marketing Manager for a large software company (Access Corp.) in the city. In 1992, Erik founded a sales & marketing services firm, Meta Marketing, Inc. Meta has helped hundreds of start-up and established companies to boost sales and grow their businesses.

What has Erik done for the community?
Besides winning election for and serving as Precinct Executive for his home precinct and Ward Chairman for the 23 Ward of Hamilton County, Erik is heavily involved in the community. Erik is Trustee of the College Hill Historical Society and an active member of: the College Hill FORUM community council, the College Hill Urban Redevelopment Corp., and the College Hill Quality of Life organization. Erik also volunteers for the Emergency Support Services (ESS), a communications and technical services organization supporting the Cincinnati Fire Department. Erik and his wife also volunteer in the Cincinnati Police Department's Citizens on Patrol program. Furthermore, Erik is a certified Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) volunteer, augmenting emergency response professionals in the city and county during times of terrorism and disaster. During his free time, Erik volunteers his piloting skills in the EAA's Young Eagle program, providing flying experiences for underprivileged youth.

What motivated Erik to get involved in politics?
After the downturn in the economy in late 2008, Erik's business, like many others, suffered a major hit. Erik viewed the government's policies as the primary reason, and decided to get involved politically. Responding to the lack of Precinct Executives, Erik successfully recruited the majority of the Central Committee members for his Ward (#23), one of the largest in Hamilton County. Shortly after successfully completing this task, Erik was approached by the Chairman of the party about running for State Representative. This was a challenge he had not anticipated. With the strong encouragement of his Republican, Democrat, and Independent friends and his family, he took up this challenge.

Who is Erik's opponent in the fall election?
Erik's opponent is Dale Mallory, the incumbent Representative from Ohio's 32nd House District and member of the notable politically-active Mallory family. A Mallory has held this state seat for nearly 40 years starting with Dale's father in 1966 (28 years), then Dale's brother (Cincinnati's Mayor), and now Dale for the past 3+ years. Dale is the least accomplished of his politically-motivated family. Numerous questions remain about Dale's impeachment as President of the West End Community Council. Unfortunately, as State Representative, Dale has been disconnected from the people he serves, focusing instead on spending tax payers' hard-earned dollars on special interests and squandering his time on sponsoring nonsensical bills. Dale's scarcity of ideas, bad choices, and poor priorities to return Ohio to prosperity highlight his lack of good economic and market-sense. He has little appreciation for small business and the need to create new jobs for Cincinnatians. Dale's history as a community leader and his actions (or lack thereof) as a State Representative are evidence of his ineptness as an elected official. Please don't take just my word for it, research Dale's history for yourself.

What is Erik's Position?
After speaking with thousands of voters in the 32nd Ohio House District concerning the problems facing Ohio and Cincinnati, Erik discovered that the majority of the issues fell into four categories. Based on this feedback and insight, Erik has formulated a four-pronged effort to address these issues, which he plans to work to implement when elected to state office. He refers to his four-pronged effort to return Ohio to greatness as "Reset Ohio", and illustrates it using a simple triangle. Erik explains, "The simplest way to represent the Reset Ohio initiative and the four significant issues facing our great state and queen city are by using three corners of a triangle plus its core."

  1. The peak of the triangle represents the most frequently mentioned and significant issue facing Ohioans and our nation – the loss of over 400,000 jobs in Ohio as a result of the poor economy". Erik placed it at the peak of the triangle because so much of Ohio's success hinges on it being effectively and immediately addressed.

  2. The second corner of the Reset Ohio triangle is the character development of our youth. Our future depends on the integrity, skills, and priorities of today's youth. Erik defines youth development as "Increasing the availability and effectiveness of our youth's education." Erik's desire is is to advance our youth's character development related to attitude, work-ethic, and civic pride.

  3. The third corner of the triangle represents security and safety. Many voters identified the need to further improve the security and safety of our neighborhoods and the streets of Cincinnati as key to renewing the life and vitality of our Queen City. The majority of voters understand that this issue is driving residents and businesses to relocate outside the city and state. It also discourages others from shopping and supporting our local merchants and entertainment establishments.

  4. Lastly, the core of the triangle represents much needed government reform. Voters are extremely frustrated with government actions, citing a need to improve efficiency, reduce size, and minimize cost. This can only be accomplished by resetting Ohio so that the government is once again aligned with the Will of the people – not special interests. Most importantly, we MUST improve the integrity and accountability of our elected officials, including those who have failed to introduce effective legislation to return Ohio to greatness.

The Reset Ohio Initiative demonstrates Erik Nebergall's ability to listen to his constituents, analyze and prioritize the most impactful issues, and formulate an effective and understandable plan to address them. A vote for Erik is a vote to Reset Ohio back to prosperity with integrity! For more information on Erik's Reset Ohio initiative, please visit www.ResetOhio.com.

How does Erik feel about diversity & inclusion?
Erik quickly learned after starting his own business that diversity in employment generates a much stronger, more capable workforce that produces a much better work product. Carried one step further into our communities, Erik believes that diversity and inclusion means stronger neighborhoods. Erik discovered while attending Cincinnati City Council meetings, that the smaller contractors, and especially minority-owned businesses, frequently get the short end of the stick when it comes to government contracts. He learned that typically the large government contracts are awarded to major contractors (frequently located outside of the the city and state) who then outsource the work they don't want to do to smaller businesses. Erik will fight to see that small local businesses get first dibs on these smaller contracts (as well as large) and work diligently to see that local government contracts stay in our city and state!

Isn't it time to elect someone who has the integrety, experience, and priorities to return Ohio to prosperity and greatness! Elect Erik Nebergall on November 2nd.
